Name: Gwynn Clark
Vehicle: Polo TDi Sport
Engine Size: 1900cc
Purchase date: 2005

Modifications:
Not many, yet... just some Ultra VW stickers and a Bosal swan neck towbar!

Future plans:

To wear a groove in the M4, and to try not let the kids ruin the interior too much! I might look into engine and suspension mods at some
point, probably after I've had the cam belt changed.

Other projects/rides:

None at the moment... I often dream about a nice oval though!

Latest news (September 2010):
I've been running the Polo for some time and, until recently, the only additions had been Brembo Max brake discs.
The factory discs on the Polo are quite small and (in my case, at least...) are easily warped when pushed to the limits!

But, my latest mod/update wasn't exactly pre-planned... my trusty KKK turbo decided to seperate itself at the compressor wheel - ie total internal destruction!

Sensing an expensive fix ahead, I searched many websites and forums and found that the KKK K39 Turbo has a habit of breaking shafts. Typical...
Therefore, I contacted www.turbodynamics.co.uk for some advice

Adam at TurboDynamics suggested a Garrett GT17 replacement unit – not only was it delivered within 24hrs, it was also cheaper than I'd been quoted by VW or the usual motor-factor suppliers!

I will have a go at most things, but this wasn't a job for me!! Therefore, I had
Paul at B and H motors in Reading fit the replacement turbo/manifold for me. www.bandhmotors.net - highly recommended!

Also, another reason for choosing the Garrett option is that it can be upgraded quite easily to cope with in excess of 200hp!!
However, I'll be needing to upgrade the clutch to cope with those sort of figures, hence I've stuck with the standard setup for now.

But, even so, I should be able to cope with at least a mild ECU upgrade... watch this space :) !

Future updates:

All this research has got me thinking about an upgraded turbo, but before that I need to think about the brakes and suspension...
